“È capitato a fagiolo!” Is an Italian saying, which in English translates to “happens at the bean.” Happens at the Bean is what you might say when something happens just in time, at the perfect moment.
Hello, I’m Todd and welcome! I have no formal culinary training. I learned to cook from watching my Grandmother, Mother and Great Aunts (aka Nuber Ave.) As a young child I often found myself in their kitchens trying different things and developed a love of food. The goals of Happens at the Bean are to share recipes and techniques, to pay homage to my loving instructors (only my Mom is still with us) and pass what knowledge I’ve picked up from these vivacious ladies onto the next generation of cooks.
I currently live in Charleston, SC with my wife and daughter. Prior to Charleston, I resided in San Francisco and New York.
